Wolseley UK Brings New Opportunities To Ripon (09.03.05)
Wolseley UK, the leading distributor of building materials and products in the UK, has unveiled plans for the redevelopment of its Ripon site.
When complete, the revamped Wolseley UK site will employ over 400 people working in information technology (IT), finance, payroll, benefits, fleet management, training, health and safety, call centres and property management; including IT services for other Wolseley companies in Europe.
The work, which has just started on site, includes building a new, 2,500 sq m, three-storey extension. When the new building is complete, staff will move in while the existing offices are completely refurbished. Clean, bright modern colour schemes will create a stimulating work environment for one of the largest workforces in the area. The building and refurbishment work is scheduled for completion in the late autumn of 2005.
Bathstore.com, the retail chain also owned by Wolseley UK, will be establishing a new distribution centre at the site from which it will deliver its top-end, high quality bathroom fixtures and fittings.
Derek Hufton, IT Director, Wolseley UK will be the senior director at the Ripon site. He commented
