Wolseley UK Opens New Headquarters
The opening of the 73,000 sq ft Wolseley Center, at Spa Park in Leamington Spa marks a significant step in the development of the company.

Customers, suppliers and other business partners joined senior managers form the Wolseley group to mark the opening, which was performed by Wolseley group chief executive Charlie Banks.

Charlie Banks said

"Wolseley UK has led the way on the diversification of our business, and has set the pace for the rest of the world. I hope this new site shows our confidence in the economy, and the UK team's ability to deliver growth."

Adrian Barden, Managing Director of Wolseley UK, added

"The opening of the Wolseley Center marks the opening of an even more exciting and successful chapter in this company's proud history."

Wolseley UK had consolidated its offices into two UK centres. The company has retained and expanded its existing Ripon office in North Yorkshire, where commercial finance and IT services will be located.

In Leamington Spa, the Wolseley Center will house, amongst other functions, the strategic and executive leadership team, brand management, marketing, finance, logistics and human resources. The new building currently houses 380 staff, and that number will eventually rise to 500.

Work is also under way at Spa Park on Wolseley UK's national distribution centre, which, when complete in mid-2006, will employ 150 staff.
