WOLSELEY’S OFFER FOR BRANDON HIRE DECLARED UNCONDITIONAL

Wolseley has announced that its offer for Brandon Hire has been declared unconditional in all respects.

This acquisition adds 143 Brandon Hire locations the Hire Center network of 135 branches. Brandon Hire’s chief executive Charles Skinner will lead the combined hire business, reporting to Wolseley UK board director Nigel Sibley. Hire Center brand director David Himsworth will report directly to Charles Skinner.

Commenting on this development, Nigel Sibley said: “We are delighted the offer for Brandon Hire has gone unconditional, as this business is an excellent fit with our existing Hire Center operation.

“The new hire business will have broader UK coverage, enabling us to service the tool hire needs of both local customers and national accounts. Tool hire is a growing sector, and one that complements other Wolseley UK brands such as Build Center, Climate Center and Plumb Center.”

Charles Skinner added: “We will be looking to take the best parts of Hire Center and Brandon Hire and combining them to create a platform for significant future growth and investment in this business.
