- Once approved, the following requirements apply
|
- Agreement
Suppliers must enter into a formal agreement with Wolseley UK.
This legally binding document will include the terms and conditions
under which trading will be done.
- Electronic Trading
Wolseley UK require electronic trading with suppliers,
using either EDI or XML systems. The sophistication of these
systems will vary from simple to complex but the exchange of
orders and invoices must be enabled. Suppliers who do not have
current arrangements will be offered advice over suitable systems
and can subscribe to the CenterLink XML e-business initiative
that will provide a turnkey solution for trading with Wolseley
UK.
- Supply Performance
Wolseley UK will specify exact delivery parameters that will
be constantly monitored and reviewed. Late and partial deliveries
may result in penalty clauses being invoked and the status
of the supply agreement being critically examined. Wolseley
has high standards of service and a sophisticated logistics
system. Failure to supply can be ‘business critical’ and
is unacceptable.
- Quality Policy
All products supplied must meet an agreed quality standard and,
where appropriate, be tested and approved by independent bodies.
All products must be of ‘professional’ quality so
as to maintain the strong relationship between Wolseley UK
and customers. Suppliers must demonstrate a fully functional returns
policy and have in place an after-sales service to support products
sold.
- Product Promotion
Suppliers will be expected to contribute with finance and/or resources
towards the promotion of their products to the benefit of both
parties. This support may entail product training, information
support, catalogues, point of sale, contributions to the cost
of publicity material, events and, where appropriate, customer
schemes such as the Extra Customer Club.
- Product Development
Suppliers may be asked to demonstrate their commitment to a development
programme designed to introduce enhancements, improvements and
innovations to their area of interest and in business processes.
