Following the Government announcement on 19th July we can detail below what this means for our business and customers based in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Branch Operations in England
Wearing a mask in branch is no longer a legal requirement. However, we do encourage all visitors to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Our branches will operate within their normal hours and will maintain safety measures, including hand sanitiser stations, protective screens, safety PPE, cleaning schedules and customer guidance/directional signage.
Branch Operations in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland
The Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish Governments have all confirmed that despite the changes coming into effect in England from Monday 19 July, face coverings and social distancing is still mandatory. Therefore, we request you to wear a face mask if you are visiting a branch in one of these countries (unless you are exempt from wearing a face covering).
These branches will also operate within their normal hours and maintain safety measures, – including hand sanitiser stations, protective screens, safety PPE, cleaning schedules and customer guidance/directional signage.
Occasional Branch Closures and Digital Self Service
During the first waves of the pandemic there were occasions where we have had to temporarily close branches. Whilst we do not foresee this occurring on an ongoing basis, if there is short-term local disruption to our service at branch level, or temporary closures, they will always be shared as quickly as we can with you, both locally and on our website, and we’ll always seek to provide you with support from elsewhere in our wide network of branches. All of our branches across the UK have remained open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and will continue to operate with appropriate safety procedures for the foreseeable future.
